I just remembered some of my former issues. I missed it to get public with thoughts and emotions, guess i was too lazy and caught up in the everyday mess to stop and think.
Some time ago, I had a discussion with the little monkey about long distance relationships, and how they are hard to keep alive, but still the most intense type of relationship, because in the short time you actually are together you enjoy every single second.
The little monkey and I have a long distance "thing" of our own. It's not really a friendship, it's more some kind of communication over favourite movies. But it's still very special having our little quests of "who knows his movies best".
There's again the little mouse, with whom i share so much, that we actually are two of a kind. And the deer with her boyfriend, the meerkat, who were the first two persons to give me the feeling that i am worth loving after all. And the elephant back home, who just called me to complain about a girl he likes. She drives him crazy, tra-ra-ra-ra-ra-ra...
When looking arround, I find all these nice persons, whom I often like and sometimes admire, but my little zoo with all those little characters I love and connect with is spread all over the world.
Actually, if I hold still and think, all my special things are long-distance. My best friends are long distance, two of my relationships were long distance for some time (the best two, i may add), some of the most impressing moments i had in life were - say it with me - long distance.
I guess long distance allows you to see only the good in people. It's like being part of this absolutely gorgeous '40s movie, where people don't ever take a piss, where they always smell good and where they are absolutely glamourous arround the clock. It leaves you with the feeling that you live in a sane world after all.
Am I just fooling myself? Maybe, but what keeps
you going?
HERO OF THE DAY: The elephant, for telling me: "If you want me to, I'll call you, and if you don't, I'll still call you, because that means you really need me."
