What does a convinced pacifist like me do, when she is put against the obvious choice eat or get eaten? I remember being attacked on the street once, and not being able to fight back for fear of producing pain to my opponent. But then I knew at least that soon it would be over and the pain would get better. Alas, the pain was merely of physical nature and was not to leave any marks after all.
Something different happens however in this case, and I fear that my reticence to conflicts will have to be surpassed. However, what I fear most of all is putting more misery into the world. And into myself.
